Introduction to Deconstruction:
Architect and Designer Edition
This AIA-approved course is designed for architects and design professionals seeking to integrate deconstruction principles into their practice. Participants are introduced to the fundamentals of deconstruction, including material recovery, waste diversion, and circular design strategies that extend the lifecycle of building materials.
The course explores how thoughtful deconstruction planning can inform design decisions, support adaptive reuse, and reduce the environmental impact of the built environment.
Through real-world examples and practical applications, architects will gain insight into specifying for disassembly, incorporating reclaimed materials, and aligning projects with evolving sustainability standards and client expectations. This course also provides continuing education (CE) credits through AIA, supporting professional development while equipping designers with the knowledge to lead more responsible and resource-efficient projects.
